Astor, our Polish distributor and a key partner in Central & Eastern Europe has been organizing meetings with customers for many years. Instead of setting up in one central location they always make an effort and travel around the country in the form of a tour. This April it was 8 locations in key regions for automation in Poland.Chris Ceranowicz, the Horner representative in CEE, was part of the tour for the 3rd year in a row. For Chris it was a great opportunity to meet with Horner clients and discuss their specific needs.
This year's tagline was "Traditionally Modern", which pretty much sums up Astor's way of doing automation. They can be easily described as a company with traditions - in 2012 they celebrated their 25th anniversary. At the same time, year after year, they keep up with modern technology and offer better and faster solutions in their portfolio.
Horner is not an exception here. This year our newest, top of the line products were presented: 3,5" XL4, 7" XL7 and big HD screen ZX - all with built in Ethernet. Also at the show the newest PLC series RCC was presented. In the Polish market, this is delivered under the brand name Astraada PLC, which opens up new markets and distribution channels. After just a few months this product was awarded "Product of the Year" by one of the major magazines in the automation market.
All Astor guests had a chance to not only listen to information about the newest products, but also had the opportunity to participate in short 'demo' panels in which Astor presented how to easily perform complicated tasks in various software packages. The Horner presentation focused on datalogging in Cscape - a feature used by the majority of Horner users and which can be set up in minutes. (mass media storage is available on all XL series products)
The Tour, as always, had some great locations. For the last few years Astor invited us to the new Polish football stadiums. This year, amoung others, we were on a boat on the Vistula river in Krakow and in a Renewable Energy Centre (Sulechow). It was a great experience and we'd like to thank Astor for having us as part of the team.
